I stayed up til 4am but I got so many quests done. Also General Shy defeated every army on the worldwound, which is always nice. He's levelled all the way up now so it's usually one or two firestorms. The other generals are behind but now we've got to hold all that territory so they'll have a chance to catch up.

I did the tactical fight, freed the mine, and did so many companion quests I don't remember which were what day. Ember and Greybor were yesterday but I think Lann was last night. I always try to do that fight with a minimum of killing but this time I Summoned a bunch of spiders and it turns out the killing keeps happening once the summoned things are there so all the sleep spells etc just kind of lined up a buffet for them. Not nice. Also this time I am playing a witch Knight Commander and have two Grand Hexes, the one where you turn enemies into allied animals and the one with the death curse. Only the fights don't know they've been won until all the designated enemies are dead, you can't trigger the you've won conversations if the enemies are in allied animal form, so the simplest thing to do turns out to be (1) turn them into your animal friends and (2) death curse them because the curse kills before the animal spell wears off. Which seems meaner than just death cursing them in the first place but the animals fight on your side first and then just stand there. If they followed you around properly like summoned things do you'd have the weirdest fights happen when the spells wore off. Usually the witch I play is Ember, who really wants to be a healer but really really really blows things up real good. This KC witch I have been trying to figure out the enemy debuff spells, curses and so forth, and they're handy when they work, but mostly I've been either sleep hexing or death cursing things. The spells are still a bit of a mystery to me.

This became really really relevant when I went to do Daeran's quest, because obviously the one best suited to winning that fight is Daeran, and he is unavailable. And I brought Ember but not Sosiel. I thought it would be fine, we've got heal spells, we've got this covered. But no. The thing is immune to spells with a target, and the computer decided that even Mass Cure or Mass Heal spells have a target. Only channeled energy was hitting at all. I thought I gave Ember an anti undead hex but I couldn't find it when the fight was happening so she just firestormed a lot. Arue was down to chucking Holy Water at it, which worked for about as much damage as anyone was attaining. I get the feeling a swarmbane clasp might have helped but Arue wasn't wearing one and I'd already restarted the fight once when I realised the friend or foe identification was saying the enemy was immune but then killing allied Inquisitors. ... also I tried putting Pillar of Life all around the platform and that did indeed work but the amounts of damage it works for are at this point tidgy. Seelah was the only one who could channel energy and I am not sure she was doing more damage with that or with Radiance. And the KC was chucking one of each of everything at it because it kept being immune to things I would babe thought would have worked. But even with all that non optimised combat, the team won handily, since the enemy isn't grand at hitting us at this level either.

20th level adventurers don't have to worry about much. Even before the Mythic spells give you buffs that duplicate at least 24 castings of lower level spells with one 9th level Fortress. And the Mythic powers mean they last 24 hours, not that anything is reliably lasting 24 hours since on Core the enemy can also cast Dispel Magic. If we take the minutes to buff everything before we get going - and it is so many minutes now, it takes about a minute for each spell between casting time and me pressing the buttons, this would not be practical without Enduring spells - well most things are falling right off us now. They usually don't hit because our AC is buffed to the skies and when they do hit good luck getting anything past elemental resistances and protections, or stoneskin.

It has reached the point where I feel we could survive without Daeran, and I do not usually like to bet on surviving without Daeran.

So we finished questlines for Daeran, Seelah, and Regill for certain. Regill is very annoying and I feel like disarming him before that fight is reasonable even in character. Seelah is grand and I like how complicated that quest gets for someone who introduces herself as having sworn to try and copy Iomedae's perfection. Complicated world ensues.

We finished Finnean's questline too. I felt like this Knight Commander would respect the cycles of life and death too much to try and talk him into sticking around so he's gone beyond now. The sword he leaves behind is a nice sword but Seelah uses Radiance and no one else uses a sword. Selling him seems tacky though so he's going with Seelah to Threshold.

That basically just leaves Nenio. We're on our way to Chilly Creek first, and then we'll have cleared the map except for Nenio and some DLC. I'll take Nenio to figure out the Key and then do the stupid Heart of Mystery puzzles and then do Nenio's stuff once we've got all the research started.

... I should also do some things that are not replaying the same video game again again again. Actually this is the fifth mythic path I've got this far on and I started a lot more than I've finished so more agains than that.

But it gets a lot of momentum by this close to the end so I'm probably juet going to eat and go play.
