Jan. 15th, 2006 03:12 pm'Pharaoh's Daughter' is a really quite intensely bad episode.
If I get started on detailing all the badness I'll be here all day. The illogic, the liberties taken with history... very very bad.
I mean the language thing can go with the Stargate handwave - they're not speaking English, but we don't see the translation happening.
But even then...
I can see the plot bunny. Use the Immortality as time travel, import someone from ancient past and see the culture clash. Its just... it would have really, really helped if there was a sense of history, of accurate detail. I mean this kind of conflict is all *about* detail. As it is she's just some walking cliche, getting naked at the drop of a hat.
And also, why does Duncan let her wear high heels? Even if the shop assisstant offered them, he's got to know how bloody impractical they are. She'll be fighting for her life! Idiot.
And... er, I wasn't going to do this.
Okay. going now.
dumb episode.
