Brain in a jar
Jan. 16th, 2006 04:51 pmSomeone mentioned brain in a jar somewhere
so I thought of a thing I can't remember if I writ down
Doctor Who
the episode The end of the world
Sheet of skin lady who the Doctor let go boom
with a speech about everything having a time to die
didn't she have her brain in a jar?
little jar underneath the big sheet o skin
if she did, then skin go boom wouldn't actually be a major problem, at least in any well designed system.
death is brain death.
she'd be blind and lacking all senses, but her brain in a jar would be on life support same as usual
that's... actually kind of worse than the stretching to death bit
because she stretches to death
then has a long time to think about it
while not getting any new input
and maybe getting lots of screaming from the stretch tatty pieces of her former skin
that would be really gross
but presumably they could grow her a new her eventually
all of which is assuming my recollection of brain in a jar is correct.
I mean it certainly wasn't anywhere near her face.
and I think I remember a little jar at the base of the setup.
But I haven't a copy to check on.
Doctor Who has all the best gross deaths.
