Highlander season 3 Courage
Jan. 16th, 2006 07:16 pmInteresting episode
stomped up the middle of my Issues though, so I'm sort of trying not to think about most of it. Addiction, unyaay. Destroys.
Though it did lead on fairly directly from a comment in the previous episode, when the newbie's pretty much first thought was that she could get drunk and do drugs all no worries. Well, she wouldn't stay dead of it, but, worries.
The Quickening this time used jump cuts and slow mo to make it trippy. That worked.
The relationship with the new lady doctor... I know how it ends, and I can see right from here how it ends, so that works. Her nightmares are about trying to save a life and failing, so are his. The crucial difference is he failed when he killed them. Big huge enormous difference.
Not to say that soldiers and doctors can't get along. There's a lot of fanfic says they can. But Duncan isn't precisely a soldier, and there are really huge ethical issues in his life, which most people might well want to avoid.
(of course if i'm misremembering how it ends that all makes less sense...)
As a new love interest... I don't know. I'm trying not to dislike her. Or keep thinking she's funny looking. It isn't very polite to keep thinking someone is funny looking. But... I don't actually like her. *shrugs*
Less bed hopping would be yaaay though.
Actually, part of the problem is he has more chemistry with Cullen. Or Charlie. Or Richie. Or Joe.
Yes, my slash lenses are firmly in place. Learned them here first.
I don't know, they keep getting rid of characters and swapping new ones in, and I guess I don't like it.
Also, is it just me, or can they actually not afford to have all the people from the credits in an episode all at once? That just doesn't look right.
anyways, good episode, nice brutal fight. cut to the neck that doesn't scar, which I'd read of much before.
Issues all over the place.
there was also a thing Duncan said about fear, something about it destroying souls. sounded all quoteable. can't find it with Google, can't be bothered to rewind and type. Is on the last disc anyway somewheres. Shall try to remember to go get it.
