Highlander season 3 Obsession

The more of these I watch, the more I'm thinking that I just plain havent seen this season. At all.

I've had an entire 'new' season of the show that inspired me to painful body modification sitting on my shelf for months and I haven't watched it!

Entirely seperately, I think I forgot to write down that Richie is manager of the Dojo since after Charlie left. Did they have to swap C for R??? But he doesn't just mop and that, he stays up with paper and computer.


Anyway, Obsession

Starts with stalker Immortal.

Then to Duncan and Anne. Who have apparently progressed to offering shared showers and getting up together. And giving her the spare key.

Now I'm no expert on relationships, but a minute ago they were having breakfast for the first time. Last episode the answer to 'Girlfriend?' was 'Working on it'. And now they're up to keys?
As a reader I feel like they skipped a step.
I mean with Amanda we see seduction pretty much step by step, and snuggly afterwards in bed.
With random chick of the week we see skin and sex.
But with this lady we see bathrobes and keys. Big difference in presentation. Leaves us guessing and, in my case, feeling like I must have missed something.


so, couple of minutes of dancing followed by a flashback we've already seen. episode came in short then...


lookit, now there's random flashback lady sex!
and yet big ambiguity about Anne?

Does it make any themey sense?
Something about jumping to conlusions, going too fast?
Maybes.


Oh look, flashback lady with no past is already married, what a surprise!
this is the flashback that doesn't end...
long flashback with a flashback in it. funny way of writing. not usual.

heh. so that nearly really didn't work out.
Mac went seriously extreme on that guy. out of order much? And only a hundred years ago.

this episode was *short*

flashback was about Duncan being obsessed? Er, no, not really, just really really violent. Which he does semi regular.

yeah, show not tell not working here.
He told her about Duncan? Outing yourself is one thing, outing someone else without telling him is entirely another.

Keogh going from talking about being treated as a thing when he was an indentured servant to treating 'his wife' as property. Dumbth. But people dumb, not writing dumb.

Duncan being an idiot over the wife lady... I guess I know why they flashbacked in the flashback, because right after that extreme badness, it makes more sense. She isn't just a girl, she's life again. Which is the problem and why they shouldn't get together too. I mean she has to be a she not just a what she does for him.

Duncan grew up a lot since then.

Showing that growing up is never done with.

The ep still feels a bit lumpy and clumsy though.

What kind of idiot woman goes out the window?

And also, Anne keeps on dating Duncan after that happens?
She had the reasonable 'call police' plan, he had the grab put the phone down plan. He did dumb. But he ends up really sorry for it.
I guess not entirely reason to dump, just really annoying.

Gah. Swordfight.
The flimsier the reason for killing the K'Immie the more viciously they have to attack Duncan. So there's some justification.
But this time Duncan doesn't kill him.
For why? Because he didn't mean to kill her?
Not that I think killing him would be of the good, but it would seem consistent with Duncan's other times.

I don't think I liked that one. Don't know. Oddly unbalanced it felt.

Plus oddly unsure of my opinions/reactions I feel.
