BUGS season 2
Feb. 10th, 2006 03:03 pmam watching BUGS again
instead of Highlander (because I actually want to have brain and concentration for Highlander, but I just now wanted to put something on while I ate lunch)
so
season 2 starts with a shuttle launch
a British shuttle
a commercial, not government, British shuttle
see, BUGS is SF. Low key SF of the sort you get when you imagine current high tech actually getting used, but still, SFish.
Lots of things went boom. And people went boom. And they actually managed to surprise me once even though they'd given out clues. They started with a fire that didn't harm Ed because the suits were fireproof. Then they had a guy who couldn't get away from the BUGS team get blown up. Team assumes dead. Goes away. Guy climbs out of car in fireproof suit. :)
Very cool, and I didn't actually expect it.
The shuttle parts are... odd. Like, there's no gravity in the cargo bit, with floaty Ed. And he wears a helmet down there. But pulls his gloves off to get a better grip. Comes back up to the bit with the seats, and suddenly there is gravity!
Budget issues lead to the invention of gravity control. Nifty!
Is a two parter. I'm going to go watch the second half now.
