Mar. 18th, 2006 07:09 pmI'm sooooo tired today its ridiculous. I got up, got food, put some TV on until I could wake up properly.
Now I've watched all the second season of the vic&bob Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) and I'm back to being yawny enough to go to bed.
Tired.
R&H(D) was surreal and strange and interesting.
I think I liked it.
Reckon it overused effects though. I mean I compare the original and the mileage they got out of 'everyone stand still while he leaves shot' and then think what got spent on making the whooshy ghost effect... I just don't think it added much. Some FX worked great, like the burning man, or the faceless woman for that matter, but making a routine disappearance be an effect? Don't see the use.
I think about these things too much because in my head winning the lottery and making my Ripper series is likely enough it needs a plan.
*nods*
of course so is 'earth hit by giant meteor' or 'alien invasion' or 'wake up naked in London in 1975'.
my brain is a very odd place to live.
