every time I pick up that 'sex and the slayer' book I get annoyed by something.
this time, the section on Anya.
it keeps referring to her as a young woman, and comparing her with the young characters. But that's missing half the point. Anya is old. Very old. She represents old models that don't work. She worries about looking old. That whole 'old and wrinkly' bit in the song. (When she's a demon she got no skin, so wrinkly not a problem I guess). But she is old.
So she is trying to appear young. And maybe latching on to young ideas without understanding the heart of them? Not sure.

It says in the last season she is most associated with Andrew. Which also seems to be missing the point. Andrew is most associated with her. To highlight his selfless problem. And also make her look good. And learn from her.
silly feminist book to get that backwards.

also: I am no closer to having a 2000 word essay done now than I was at the beginning of the unit. And I rather think next week is hand in week. And I haven't got any emails back from the tutor or actually seen them this whole time. And I'm feeling pretty stupid about that, even if I can honestly say I was doing my best. My best is just... not organised.
Is annoying. I started the year with the goal of just turning up for class. I've done that, consistently. Whyfor I now have to do this other thing with no classes? Now I have, like, pressure, and needing to pass.
I sulk.

I probably should go sleep some more soon.

will set my alarm clock for Doctor Who.
