Somebody posted a linky to something called Language Log, the Livejournal feed for it. So I've been poking around reading about books claiming women talk more than men. Apparently this is a made up statistic. Actual research shows either about the same of talking or slightly more man words, but with variation between men or between women being bigger than differences between sexes. If I'm reading it right anyways.
So then I read a quote from a back of a book blurb
"Thoughts about sex enter a woman’s brain once every couple of days but enter a man’s brain about once every minute"
Haven't yet read anyone eyeroll about that.
I'm just left *facepalm* and wondering how they claim to know.
Not wondering enough to buy the book, I assure, but... that's some really focused telepathy going on there...
Actually, given the phrasing, could it be that Thoughts about sex enter a woman’s brain once every couple of days but in some people don't get around to leaving?
Maybe they have to enter men so often cause they keep forgetting about sex.
