I just finished reading teh second drama text for Intro Lit.
Very weird.
You can sort of see why all the scenes are in the same play, but then again, it aren't obvious.
There's theme stuff that connects it all, and characters that connect bits together, but... it is weird.
And it plays games with time rather a lot. Seems in a strange sort of order really.
Plus the annoying thing trying to read when it has overlapping conversations and people talking around other people. Blah.
Basically I like your straightforward old fashioned drama rather more than the comparison modern stuff we've been reading.
The notes in the back irritate me. They say they're for international students, which is presumably their reason for explaining every bit of British English that is even vaguely slang like. But they don't explain what the Pope is, or any kind of church, yet they feel the need to explain what Buddhism is.
Blah.
Also they miss relevant information about what some of the words mean, specifically which way they're gendered. Like, cock and cunt are both used and noted, but only cock is explained as anatomy. Play is all about men and women, surely is relevant which rude words refer to which.
I'm actually too tired to focus on Torchwood, so I turned it off. I've watched a couple of times already and I have a download. I'll watch it again later.
... This could be considered willpower, or it could be due to the way blinking seems to take up whole minutes now.
... *wants to watch again again again*
... Just remembered the one other thing I was going to do before the Stargate convention. Watch some actual Stargate.
Doh!
Well, tomorrow afternoon should have some time in it. If class doesn't turn up anything urgent, like, oh, say, the assignment for this unit we're getting tomorrow morning.
I need to sleep. I'm going to go to bed now.
Is very irritating. Just because I have to get up in 9.5 hours and usually sleep more than that I have to go sleep now. Sulk.
