beccaelizabethI'm re-reading GURPS Mage: the Ascension.
The trouble with GURPS is it encourages you to think that you really could just integrate the Infinite Worlds, In Nomine and Mage 'verses and maybe throw in a few bits of your favourite TV shows and still come up with something playable.
And then I break my brain trying to reconcile the assorted canons and basic attitudes and even game mechanics, because Mage and In Nomine are both independent systems so regular GURPS needs some tweaks to run them.
ANYways
One of the Technocracy factions is the New World Order, the proverbial Men In Black. They're the ones with the mind control drugs. And there's rumours they were founded by Queen Victoria.
... and the crossover bunnies sort of sit up and start nose twitching ...
See the thing about the Technocracy 'mages' is if they believe their own ideology they don't think they *are* mages, they're just using alien ultra-tech and protecting humanity from invaders and stuff.
The rule book puts all the paradigms next to each other like they're options, but from the inside they're more the One True Way.
So the Virtual Adepts would think they're in The Matrix, basically, and explain Werewolves and suchlike in those terms.
But thinking like that means that you can pour a lot more TV shows together because they aren't living in different worlds, just thinking in different paradigms.
... only it's of interest to nobody else at all and also I need to sleep and then do homework in the morning. So I should probably go do the sleep part now.
