Torchwood 1-10
Dec. 22nd, 2006 06:52 pmMy mum watched Torchwood, apparently, and saw most of 1-10.
She found it, er, educational?
... didn't know what a fuck buddy was either, she says ...
see this is even funnier if you can hear how she says it
Mum was also surprised to hear that Captain Jack is omnisexual and played by that JB guy I'm always talking about.
Sometimes I wonder how much of my conversation mum actually hears. Not that there's any particular reason for her to pay attention to the fan stuff, just... *blinky*
She also said she thought she must have seen an atypical episode because she thought it would be like Doctor Who and have aliens and stuff in it.
I said they were all atypical.
Which is still my impression.
It doesn't just change pace, it hops genres. Whatever the constants are they're a bit tricky to pick out. Not even the characters, except Gwen.
Mum used to watch Stargate and Farscape when I brought the DVDs round, but isn't bothered when I don't. What she usually watches on actual TV, far as I can figure, is gardening shows.
Torchwood would be... different.
:-)

Date: 2006-12-22 07:37 pm (UTC)Matthew came up with a great term last night in regards to a character on that show who finds something of sexual interest in just about any warm body he meets, referring to the character as a "trysexual." I think that'd be pretty apt for Captain Jack as well. ;)
