words, many of them
Oct. 21st, 2004 10:48 pmI just spent a couple of hours writing.
Many thousands of words.
Of actual *fiction*.
And on the whole it is going in the direction I wanted it to. Like, actually moving along. I both started and finished a conversation. You have no idea how hard that is for me, my characters never want to finish anything, they're always having too much fun. Or too settled into the argument, or whatever.
I could even, in fact, post it here on LJ and let people read it as a complete scene. That isn't the way I usually make things, I would want to both start and finish a plot rather than just a scene, but I've seen people post smaller chunks.
I have words.
woah.
*hugs laptop tightly*
see now I know what the problem has been- the internet + attention span of a drugged up butterfly. There's always something shiny happening. And when there isnt there is reload to press a whole lot of times. without that, hours and hours of typing.
coolness!

Date: 2004-10-21 05:21 pm (UTC)Glad to hear words are happening; I myself have progressed beyond haikus and single word posts although the quality isn't much, and it's not fiction so I don't actually have to make it up.
So, yeah, great thing that you're figuring stuff out and making stuff up and writing it down and happy about it. Hoping (and trusting) that this will result, some day, in the Ultimate Ethan.
Julia, envious but in an entirely non-sarcastic and completely admiring and friendly way. Honest.
