Titles, advisability thereof

If the title of your post is 'fanfic' then, once memoried, it joins the other bazillion stories that couldn't be bothered to cut n paste the title into the subject line and is immediately impossible to find.
If it doesn't have a title at all it's just that much worse.

Pick a word. Any word. It doesn't have to be a good title. It could be a random number for all I care, but please, just put *something* in the subject line.

... I'm mostly ranting at people from months back on fic communities for Torchwood, who probably won't ever read this. I aren't meaning to be rude at my actual friends list. Me and basic social skills sometimes need a refresher course...

But if the subject line doesn't *include* "Fanfic" (e.g., "Fanfic: Batman Begins: Cowl Capers") then people who are reading your LJ will know it's a fic post and not a cat post or a post about how dumb your boss is...and people who are skimming your LJ because they want to re-read that story you posted in March, or was it April?) will have to read all the posts so they probably won't bother.

You can actually change the subject line you save something under when you memory it. (Doesn't change the subject on the actual post but what it's saved under in your memories.)

this I knew. is useful. but it means instead of the author cut n pasting once, the readers have to do so a whole bunch of times. and when I'm fic binging I get cranky.
