Plot bunny of the day

Jack gets retconned back to being about 15 again.
English is not his first language and at that point he speaks about as much as I did Latin in high school ie catchphrases and a bit of ancient-to-local guessing.
Also, his name is not Jack yet.
And he's rather surprised about the whole 'he' thing.
point of the bunny is to find what would trigger Jack's memories, what out of all that stuff they've got no idea about could possibly be dug up to be important enough to him it breaks the block.
If I was writing it it wouldn't be anything smoochy and romantic and Ianto related.
Because Ianto is fairly new and relatively low stakes, from a Jack point of view.
But the Doctor? Whole other deal. So it would be the TARDIS noise, or the hand maybe. But the hand is sitting around in plain sight so it would be 'oh noes, no memory! wait, hang on, got it again...'
But the only way to make this whole thing a bit tense would be if Torchwood still didn't know why Jack left. Because if they've made the Doctor connection already then nobody is going to have much of a reaction.
Therefore... this is another Jack is back story. Only they're going to find him through the police picking him up on the street, because of the missing posters, and he'll be retconned all to hell and gone, and nobody can figure out what language he's speaking.
Torchwood computers translate alien languages, so they should probably manage.
But it would take a while, and the language analysis would turn up all kinds of weird about it.
... this is also a plot bunny of 'Jack loses his virginity to Ianto'. Only the moral issues involved when there's minimal communication and a mental age somewhat lower than local opinion considers of the good... well, they'd be kind of fun and kind of mucky, so I'm not sure.
I also have this vague meta amusement at turning one of the characters into the emotional equivalent of a 15 year old girl.
... of course there could also be youthing rays. Maybe make Jack the same age as Ianto. And curvy.
... pretty ...
