Watching Deep Space Nine

Feels really weird. I haven't watched DS9 for *years*, so it's this weird mix of familiar and strange. My attitudes to characters are kind of changed. I mean, Jadzia and Julian are both *younger* than me now, which is just... bizarre. I'm used to overtaking the teen sidekicks, but the officers? Weird. And it just feels weird to watch because last time I saw it things in my life were so different.
On the plus side, it doesn't suck. I mean, I knew that, but when you haven't watched something for a long time there's always the lingering dread you've maybe made it shiny in memory. Like half the books I read as a teenager and now can't stand. But no, this one stands up. Also, everyone is just as pretty as I remember. Though Bashir do remind me more of a really proud puppy than the one in my head does.
I have decided that artistic DVD menus should really come second to useability. And maybe have a feature a bit like computers do where you can pick a less busy background. I mean making it look a bit like DS9 computers is kinda cool, except for the thing where it's all busy and lumpy and most of it doesn't do anything. *shrugs* not like is much time spent there though.
I think if I'd written about each episode individually I'd have a lot to say, but now I've watched most of two discs they're all smooshed together and I don't. OTOH, still watching, so, is good.
