woah! cool! shiny!
wheeeeee!

"not any more"
and
"strictly forbidden, except for cheap tricks"

And cousin

and Martha Jones

and "you're completely mad"

and she knows things! and has skills! and doesn't flap in a crisis!
and when she doesn't know something she finds it out!

yaaaaaaaays!

... I like her.

wow, that was shiny

so, you know, cool

also

I like it that she has a whole network of family
and they show her in the middle of it
and all that showing her being caring
(rather than telling us)
but not perfect
(which is yaays)

... I'm less convinced about the kiss.
... er, nobody gets to kiss him except Jack?

but it wasn't a kiss. and she doesn't fancy him. so that's alright.

... and if you believe that there's this bridge for sale...

New superpowers are just very very silly. Shoes / off. silly.

Really, following him down dark alleys?
that's not dodgy at all. really.
:eyeroll:

so, very cool, and I want to watch again already, so it wins.

... there were bits I kind of missed cause I can't watch medical stuff so I had the mute on, but there were subtitles, so that's okay.

Oh, and I should say how British is that little old lady vampire? I mean, that's just not how it's usually done. But it fits - makes funny and drama and surprise. Yaays.
... though the ideological implications worry me in an ageist way ;-)

The Judoon are cool. And a bit thick, that was funny.

Declassified reckons
"what you want is our point of view in there"
I'm feeling much more flattered by this as our point of view than I was by the last one. I'm just saying.

... I just watched all of Rose in a row. By the end I was wincing whenever she went all baby voiced whiny. I'm very much hoping we won't get any more of that.

So, anyways, much more my type, pretty and smart and getting things done and way cool.

I'm ready to like her quite a lot.

It does occur to me that the things not said about how her cousin died could turn into massive angst later on. That could be either fun or deeply boring, depending.

... the trouble with this Declassified is I started out liking her and now they're selling her so much I'm almost put off.

"The Doctor's been away for a while, done a bit of thinking, being on his own" is what DT reckons. So, massive room for fic in the gaps then.

I like it that Martha believes her eyes and logics from observation and therefore saves the Doctor's life. Rather than the last medical pseudo-sidekick who wouldn't believe the two hearts and killed him. Bit of a contrast.

"he's attracted to her intelligence" etc: yes, me too.

Rose: emotional intelligence.
Martha: ... lacking that? Oh dear
Rose: instinctive
Martha: thinking

... it occurs to me the aspects they're picking out for Rose are cliche woman things

I like it better when they blow stuff up.

"value of humanity, things that make us human, compassion, anger, empathy
that being human is enough"

... bollocks is it. Being a moral human would be a good start.

hang on, moral conscience is what the Doctor lacks? I must have misheard that.

You know the thing they miss about "can have dreams that can come true" is the side where, when this guy can travel to anywhere and anywhen in time and space, he travels *here*. Since he has all the choices, that simple presence puts us, here and now, in the same league as any alien setting or piece of history they come up with. Which is the half that makes it extra cool. I mean shows that are way off in the future can make it look a bit like here and now is lame, but Doctor Who has here and now equally cool as anywhere. Though not in the way Rose talks about it.

That bit with Mr Saxon: saying he's saying there's life in the universe. And in the Bride thing he was the one ordered them to fire on the webstar. Interesting start.

... You know it totally looks like the Doctor is picking her up. I mean that's always what he does, but this time it looks like it, you know?

They're talking about the music and how the theme changes. Neat.
I like the Declassified better when it's picking up on stuff that's not obvious on screen,
rather than telling us loudly what to think.

Oh, also, Judoon? Totally wearing New Rocks. Heeee.
Also, leather skirts.
Basically I like the look
you know, except the wrinkly rhino thing
though horns are kind of cool.

... subtitle error on Declassified, says "Bear with me" instead of "Burn with me"

It's so weird/cool them talking about how famous in the chat magazine way DW has become. I mean, all those magazine covers, about a *SF* show... so glad to be British.
:-)

did songvid just call the Doctor "beautiful boy"
???

Time Lord / pompous = funny

I hadn't noticed he was miming "bigger on the inside"
LOLs

not looking for an escape - yes! because far more interesting to be running to than away.

"The story for Martha is unrequited love"
"Rose met the most fantastic man in the universe who thought she was the most fantastic woman in the universe"
(blah!)

acquaintance/ boyfriend "to put it in 21st century human terms"
:-)

... and also :eyeroll: cause of course it's always about dating.
that was part of what I like about old school DW, it mostly wasn't. until they left, but that was just annoying.

... urgh. I decide I won't watch spoilers, I avoid them on the web, I don't watch the adverts, I even unfriend people who say they're spoiler hunting, and what do I do?

Watch avidly when the last few minutes of the Declassified show clips from all over.

*facepalm*

In conclusion: DW=cool
:-D

Yeah - Rose is kind of OMG BOOBZ and heavy make-up, and Freema Agyeman is just a genuinely beautiful woman. It's odd because she's only about three years older than Billie Piper, but she has this more... maturity around her, I guess. She doesn't look like, say, a teenager trying to be hawt. It could also be down to Billie Piper having been in the public eye since she was fourteen, and kinda being... crystalised at that age.
