tiny tank of doom!
Jul. 4th, 2007 02:59 amI watched Doctor Who: Robot.
UNIT has a tank!
attempting to exploit the "small, far away" rule, in order to show us a mighty and fully dangerous tank, they instead demonstrate extreme shakiness and how models never have quite as much detail.
and then it vanishes without a proper kaboom even!
Well, they probably used up their boom budget blowing up the machine guns.
That was fun.
There were also tiny little doll Sarah Jane Smith and tiny little doll soldiers getting chucked around. It was most amusing.
Not particularly scary or exciting or amusing in any intended fashion, mind, but still amusing.
The Doctor wasn't as fun as he should be. There was only the skipping bit where he seemed insane enough. And he only filled the space he was standing in. It's like he should be turned up to 11 but had only made it to 6 so far.
Still, we had a giant killer robot with a bit of a king kong thing and a tortured conscience. Classy stuff, obviously.
And scientists wanted to blow up the world so they could rule the ashes. In scientific and above all rational manner.
Rational scientists are clearly worse than mad scientists, who mostly only want to blow up smaller pieces.
Now I'm discovering a drawback to having watched a complete set of one Doctor, because I want to go see more 5, but I seen it all. 5 and 7 and 8 9 10 I've seen every story. Except they'll make more 10 so that's okay. But not more 5.
this is weird and also new. There's always more Doctor Who. It's like a rule or something.
Maybe I should ration them.
