Note on timing

If Owen is 27 and it takes years and years to do the MD thesis he mentioned on top of a medical degree and those foundation years, is it possible he'd only just done it by 1-01? Then that Doctor Owen Harper becomes less inherently obnoxious and more 'happy dance, passed, whee!'
Sort of thing.
... Except they get called doctor since the other degree, so that doesn't entirely work.
