Found a fic I like quite independent of Ethan content:
The Key to Byzantium
by Marcus L. Rowland
BtVS/SG1 xover
set post s7 BtVS (and a bit post AtS s5), early s7 SG1
http://lubakmetyk.infinology.net/others/rowland/
http://solo4.abac.com/lubakmetyk/others/rowland/byzantium0.htm
and proceeding logically thru 1.htm to 10.htm when I checked.
This is a good fic. Ethan turns up briefly to provide show and tell. The story is basically from SG1's viewpoint. But it is excellent, really carefully put together. The evidence that leads SG1 into the BtVS world is plausible and interesting. The characters they meet are appropriate, in character, reacting believably. SG1 are all business but also definitely themselves. This is *good*. I don't even mind that Ethan was only there briefly. I like the story they're telling.
Now the only problem is I don't know any better way to check for updates than to go back to that page and reload a lot. Suggestions?

Date: 2005-02-07 07:05 pm (UTC)You can also find the whole thing (all completed chapters to date, that is) at Twisting the Hellmouth (http://www.tthfanfic.com/) and leave feedback there, though you have to register first. Here's a direct link to The Key to Byzantium (http://www.tthfanfic.com/story.php?no=5220) at TTH.
Marcus has also written some other very good Buffyverse crossovers, and you can find them all here at TTH (http://www.tthfanfic.com/authors.php?no=178).
His own web page is Forgotten Futures (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/forgottenfutures/), but I don't know if he posts any fanfic there since I've always read his stuff at TTH or on LJ.
