beccaelizabeth... I appear to have stayed up all night inventing a tyrannical space empire.
It involved maths.
And names.
... I was trying to figure out a table of ranks and how many guards you'd need per citizen to get really seriously stompy on them and then how many citizens you'd need in a work group so they'd all watch each other and also how many administrative levels would be doing the math on the guards and the workers and, well, they all need calling something, or you'd just have an Overseer and a Slightly More Of A Boss Overseer and it would all get a bit silly.
In the process I figured out what numbers of chunks to divide the Cosmos into and how many planets there are in the vast galactic empire that isn't actually very vast but really once you get planets in the plural it's quite a lot vast compared to what you're ever actually likely to see.
Now I just have to remember all of this is totally irrelevant and I need to sleep at some point.
... really, I started with a story about maybe a dozen people, why have I just figured out the exact population of the Cosmos?...
