OMG so good
I am so glad I avoided spoilers. Even the spoiler I did see didn't mean what I thought. The best bits were all the ones when it twisted again.
Anyone spoiling me at this point will get The Wrath. Don't do that. Seriously.
They did it again with Rupesh. Set him up in magazines as the new guy and then boom. Love it when they do that.
Ianto coming out to his family: a w k w a r d !
All that stuff with being a couple: *incoherent noises* Jack! Hug him! Agh!
And then that kiss!
I know we're meant to worry about Ianto now. It went boom too quick and he wasn't in the Next section. But I am going lalala and not worrying. It is easy to go lalala for 23 hours.
... *worries a little* ...
I think I love this story so far because it is so grounded and domestic. Some stories get to zip across the universe with really shiny aliens to play with, and that's cool too, but Torchwood brings it right home with all the ordinary details and then how they'd react to these few new elements.
Jack talking to his daughter: I had, because some people are IDIOTS, seen that Jack would have a daughter. I didn't expect this daughter. And a grandson! And tragic with the not supposed to visit, and yet how much do you want to strangle Jack that his first thought for someone to EXPERIMENT on is family?
... and Ianto the same.
... dude, I hope Ianto survives to have mpreg, for they would be such disasters as parents, it would be fun to make them jump.
Mention of Torchwood as paying lots of money. And then Ianto and Jack both being 'hi family I never see have lots of money'.
They were totally playing with the audience about who had secret descendents.
And you can bet neither of them have talked to the other about their family.
Jack has family in swish looking house, Ianto has family on the kind of estate where they nick the car and bring it back for a victory lap.
*headdesk*
I love it that they nicked the car. I love it that Ianto kept being all *eek* about telling people the car got nicked.
Gwen being pregnant... and thinking is brilliant... cool.
Jack being all 'we're' about it, also cool, in a thump him kind of way.
Jack realising Rhys isn't going to be impressed that Jack new first, heh, yes.
... re-reads own notes ...
As you may have noticed, I aren't too much worried about the fate of the Children of Earth, partly because the threat is too big. I mean, is the universe with Doctor Who and the Sarah Jane Adventures going to have anything bad happen to all the children? No. Once it gets down to plausible size, once it's children we've met and we can be pretty sure since it's Torchwood they would go that far, then I'll be worried.
Right now it's just the team I'm worried about.
And loving all these details of their lives.
Ianto being all 'it's not men it's just him' = fanfic win!
... and fanfic lose. All those Owen/Ianto fics, denied!
heh.
Argh. They started the week with a fake out and a death and a bomb and no more Hub. And the car stolen. So they're changing things just a teensy.
... is not worried about Ianto yet. is worried about everyone by end of week...
...chances of Gwen getting to keep that baby?
... this is television... chances depressing... even though +baby is more interesting story...
I did love the bit with the bomb.
I love that it was set up from the start when I was busy going *covers eyes* at teh medical messy. I love that we could see it coming but Jack doesn't suspect. I even love teh complete random of how they found out in time.
... I even love having to worry, since it's not for long.
... *bites nails* ...
Loves this episode.
Now plan to hibernate until tomorrow night so I can watch the next one straight away.
