Aug. 21st, 2009 03:40 pmI am in such a sulk today. My mum phoned this morning to see if I was awake and I think I phoned her back to point out the dumb in this plan but I hadn't got my eyes open yet so I'm not quite sure I communicated that. Or indeed anything coherent.
... every day this week. And every day this week when I actually do wake up I phone her back and she isn't there. Until today, when I phoned her back while asleep, which didn't work so good.
So then I listened to Doctor Who. 7th Doctor, Ace and Hex, The Magic Mousetrap. Except most of the time they're pretending not to be them, which is less fun. Was a good solution though. Proper twisty.
After that I watched Enterprise. It was a bit A Team. Except the plan was kind of stupid. 'let's move the whole camp 50 meters away from the kabooms! oh noes, now we have to move the klingons 50 meters to get them to the kabooms! how unexpected!' If they'd moved the camp in a different direction the klingons would have had to cross the kabooms to get to the gullies they were hiding in. I only do tabletop gaming and the plan was made of stupid from where I was standing.
Also, it only works on Klingons because they get stuck in and try and go hand to hand. If they were dealing with more ruthless, colder, spaceship having aliens, the aliens could always go up and drop a rock on the annoying ones. Granted, they'd lose that supplier, but they could make sure all their other suppliers would hear what they'd done.
... I'm far too good at thinking like an evil overlord...
I also tried to finish reading the book I've had out for a whole bunch of months about how scientists are portrayed in literature. I had a good couple pages notes of insight into the basic structure of base under seige story sparked by a line they said about Frankenstein. I only read two pages of book, but it was interesting and helpful. So now I'm kind of stuck because it keeps progressing at that speed, and then there's a bunch of stuff the book has said several ways already, and then I feel like giving up on it, and then I hit another line of useful. Meh. I should just send it back and read the technophobia book instead.
So now my wrist hurts, I'm still in a sulk for little reason, and ... I have no and. I shall have to think of and before I can do whatever I do next. I have no next.
I'm not really shouty tantrum today but some days I just like the icon.
