Bulletproof Monk
I think my brother is going to like owning it.
Not terrible, but not something I anticipate rewatching.
Also the ending was odd. It noticed that the girl had also fulfilled all the prophecies (yaaay!) but then she just got landed with a 60 year responsibility without choosing it. I mean the guy got an informed choice, the girl just got the job along with him. Not quite right.
The Italian Job
Seth Green can definitely act
I'm loving Lyle in a completely seperate way to loving Oz
also funny, they're just stealing a van, and it has the name of my ISP on the side. Not the weird squid/whale/whatever, but 'netcom'. fun.
liked the new Italian Job right up until the end. Compare 'bus stuck on cliff' with 'everyone got exactly what they wanted at the start'. I mean, boring much? Why do movies do that to endings? 'Exactly what you expected' isn't an ending, its a beginning.
Also, they do crime, so in what sense have they earned the happy ending?
And why does the guy get the girl? Since when was that the point?
And she's a security consultant. Turning around and walking off with the money, even a really large amount of money, seems like an ending that suits everyone else except the girl that gets won.
annoying.
But aside from that, was good. If they'd finished one voiceover sooner, with them all still in the train, that would be a good ending. Because you don't know what happens next or if the gold is even in it when it gets wherever its going. Room for interesting stuff to happen.
Also, I want the soundtrack. Which I always feel means its done the job well.
