Athens login = really cool stuff
Oct. 22nd, 2008 11:10 amSo, I finally found out that my UEA login is an Athens login too.
... er, yes, oops.
I've got the hang of books. Books have shelves and contents and an index and generally speaking I can navigate them. Journals? Whole new map.
So my first reaction was big eyes of oooooh shiny.
My second reaction is increasing frustration. It's like everything ever is in there somewhere, but to find out which where I've got to learn a whole new... everything.
I keep finding articles from 1916 written half in greek. I'm sure they're useful to someone, just not to me.
We have to bring to class tomorrow an article or chapter we've read and summarised.
I don't know how the full time students will manage that, since they're in class like the entire daytime. I guess most people do homework in the evening and don't just fall asleep.
So I have books, and they have chapters, and I'm taking at least one of them back tomorrow... must look up which one is due back on the 23rd... and remember to renew the others... is there a limit on how often I can do that? Probably. But mostly I should just stop getting new books.
I want the book I put back in last Thursday. There was a great bit on the likely audiences that I can summarise from memory. But if I don't got it, I can't bring it to class. And I can't get there before class, it's the 0930 one, the bus wouldn't work out.
Maybe if I poke the computer some more I'll find a journal article says the same thing...
In other business my first load of laundry (black) is in the machine and my dishwasher has done the cleaning thing so I have forks again. Later there will be a cleaner and the bathroom disaster area will be resolved. Of such small repetitions is life made.
... I'd kind of like my life to be made of more parties, and possibly some kissing.
... actually if you read enough tragedy you can go right off that idea...
