Today I watched

I didn't set out to start watching Enterprise, it's just Virgin 1 plays Star Trek all day every day, I've watched all of Next Gen and DS9, Voyager bores hell out of me no matter how often I try it, and that leaves Enterprise. Which also bored me. Until I noticed The British One. Stoic, keeps himself to himself, self sacrificing. Also, pretty.
... I have predictable buttons. I can live with this.
So far I have learned that even watching all the episodes in their right order I don't know what the hell they're doing with any time travel stuff, that if I pretend I don't know anything from any other series mostly stuff is better, and that cute puppies somehow beat my dog phobia. Puppy in space! So cute!
Also, large parts of this series seem to be made entirely of fanservice.
I can think of no other excuse whatsoever for the bit where everyone sits around in their underwear at the end of the episode.
And again I can live with this.
Shuttlepod One though... I had to stop the episode in the middle just to LOL at one point. Because I have read this story. Repeatedly. In several fandoms. It's the one with the two guys trapped and huddling for warmth and getting drunk together. And yet it doesn't seem to know it is a slash story. It's bloody hilarious. I keep trying to find a way where this seemed like a good idea without being slash, and I'm getting nothing. The only part missing is the And Then They Done Sex. Which is a pity.
And then the episode this afternoon, with the weird Vulcans and the mind meld assault and why do they only use telepathy to be assault and did I mention weird Vulcans? ANYway, the episode this afternoon, when one of the guys is talking about SEX loudly and the room turns around and looks at him what happens next? Other guy from the shuttlepod wanders over and sits at his table. For no readily apparent reason. Please tell me this actually is slash and I just haven't heard it before. Because then it makes sense.
So I still haven't learned everyone's names yet or anything, but I do seem to be watching Enterprise.
