I dreamed the invaders one shot TPKed the Avengers et al, except for Nat, who had pulled me out of their circle at the last moment and therefore survived.

I was there because I was trying to tell them stuff. Stuff from wiki in another universe, but still, potentially useful stuff.

As big purple sifted through the ashes to pick out Infinity Stones, Nat and I hid
and I whisper told her about the Soul Stone
including that nobody knows where the fuck it is, and everybody wants to.

Then we were on the run, and the planet was undefended.

The first wave of arrivals were just hungry. They were really aggressive about it, but they were just hungry. So I pointed them at enough food for thousands, and they dived right in. Pretty literally. They smashed the milk and bathed in it. They poured the rice all over themselves. They did not noticeably eat. But they were real insistent they were hungry. I concluded they were undead who died hungry, so they were just going to stay that way whatever. And they made a nasty long term weapon, just seeking out food caches and making them unuseable, without even being god eating.

So we were kind of screwed, diplomacy wasn't going to work on things that couldnt change any more, and Earth's Mightiest Heroes were down to one. Who had a Quest. And no hints.

Awake me is starting to list non Avenger help one might get, but really, there were a lot of heroes in that circle at first, and then big light from the sky and a whole lot of nothing left.

Which seems like a more reasonable outcome when ship scale weapons are in play, but hey, superheroes are always about one person making a difference, they'll ork something out.

Possibly by not standing still in a really big circle.

Today was remarkably productive and do nothingy at once.

I even thought I'd caught up with the laundry at one point, but then I walked into the bathroom and found towels on the floor, so no, there's always more laundry.

Still, one load done, and a dishwasher full, plus a couple of necessary emails.

Couldn't buy the thing I'd planned to buy today because the website either doesn't have necessary options or doesn't want to work for me. I'll have to go to an actual shop. Before the sale runs out, again.

But the charity place took my old chair away quite successfully, and I did vacuum again after they'd gone so the newly empty space is cleaner. And I think I put the new recliner back where it should be, but it might take a bit of wiggling to feel exactly centered again.

Monday tasks got done and I even got a nap.

Pretty good win.

Only feels nothingy because I finished reading F&SF and none of the stories were really what I was looking for. They're either beginnings or half dones or horror endings, where everything is bad the end. I know short fiction is sort but setting up the problem is the boring part.

Or I'm just not in a good enough mood to interpret endings as hopeful. :eyeroll:

Also there was one that had been written by someone who spent twenty years in academic English Lit, and you couldn't half tell. But it's not like it was bad. Just... literary.

I should write.

... I tell myself that a lot, but it's really the only answer to being this grumbly about literally everything else.

I still have a wobbly middle in the story I outlined, but I could start and see how it goes.

But I'm also still stuck on my epic time travel self insert fic, where I fix eveything in DCTV and all the villains adore me etc. It's not very useable. But some of the time travely bits ought to be good enough to use. Only they're wrapped around twenty odd years of DC continuity in multiple verses so they're not going to pull free easily if at all.

There's no such thing as original but fic with my OC saving the day that depends on bits of ancient comics continuity applied to TV plots is kind of not playing fanfic either.

I shall just continue to daydream being glorious while never writing it down.
:eyeroll a lot:

Still, that was a day.
