Feb. 22nd, 2024 04:15 pmWrath of the Righteous is good, but I just spent several hours failing to play Inevitable Excess, because first I decided today was the day I would play through with Trickster Legend Ianto... but then I didnt want to do all that to him? And I had planned to use retraining because I put about zero thought into the build when I didnt know a Legend would need so many levels and I'm pretty sure there's some non stacking stuff in there. ... but when I got him all loaded in I don't want to change Ianto, even by retraining.
So then I started a new, different, Inevitable Excess game, where I make a different Rogue Bard Archaeologist with Ianto's starting stats, and prove to myself you can get straight 40s in skill except for the one, if you pour everything into INT, and I think he got a book to boost INT? So then he'd get even more skill points and maybe get 40s everywhere?
But I dont want to change Ianto's stats even having proved that.
There is so much math in making a level 40 character, and it's different math to when you made it one level at a time and needed some stuff you wont need again later, and its more different if you were ever a trickster and could take feats from that, and it's just... A Lot.
So by the time I'd made the character I ran out of wanting to play the game.
I need to find some kind of optimiser guide with twiddlers for the maths and then... not apply it to Ianto because his sub optimum build is just who he is now.
Ah well.
Building them from the books ends up so different anyways.
... now I want to go do that...
