Omega

I relistened to Omega (BFA DW with 5)
which I didnt actually remember at all except for remembering I didnt like it.
I do not like it.

On the one hand it uses the audio format to tell an audio specific story
but on the other I hate it when I the audience feel cheated.
It's a perfectly reasonable way to tell stories, I just always end up sulking about it.

I am also not enthusiastic about the portrayal of mental illness.
That bit had no good parts.

The layer of the story that was about how history and personality depend on the stories we tell ourselves and they are at least as powerful and influential as what actually happened, that was good, but also depressing. Seems like the truth should matter. And yet.

Don't reckon I'll relisten it until I've forgotten it again.

RPG difficulty levels, feelings of achievement, frustration

I did not play Wrath of the Righteous today
partly because that's how entire days disappear
but mostly because I am sulking about the difficulty level.

It does warn you that you need to know the system
and I could drop the difficulty at any time
but I am finding it just on the edge of too frustrating
so sometimes it looks like a nice challenge
and then I realise how many times I had to restart fights to avoid tpk.

I still like the game but I am thinking about giving up on Core and dropping a difficulty level to one that is
more achievable.

But then I have been achieving, very slowly, with multiple reloads.

Still. Not feeling enthused today.
