(We're all aware of the potential pitfalls, but doing this story right, and bringing in wheelchair users to tell us where we're going wrong, for instance the great comics creator Al Davsion, who's our official advisor, was one of the things that attracted me to the project.)"

sounds promising: attempt to do it right.


... I'm in one of my 'given up on comics' years so I wouldn't be reading it anyways, but it still sounds like a good approach.
