I know it's a bit late, but I'm really quite annoyed at this one. It says it's about Davros but it's really about how women talk men into doing really bad things. You see it wasn't Davros that invented Daleks, it was a woman he fancied, he just made them. And Davros after he was imprisoned thought he could change and be a good person, but a woman told him how awesome he was when he was evil, so he decided on evil instead. And that woman was the one that talked her husband into a bit of piracy and murder and reviving Davros in the first place. In fact the only woman in the story who doesn't be evil was all stupid and misinformed then killed herself. So, roles for women: evil persuader, stupid, and dead.
It's not just that it's creepy, it's that it takes a story that does the Frankenstein thing of a man creating life and making it monstrous, and then says SECRETLY it wasn't him in the first place, it was women, with the knowledge, have an apple it tastes good. The Davros story is about a man perverting life so it is all about making death. Except now Big Finish got their hands on it, so it's really about women wanting monster babies and strong men to rule the universe. Wait, I'll look up who wrote it so I can be annoyed specifically: Writer: Lance Parkin.
Do I think men sit down and say to themselves: you know what? Let's rewrite it so women are to blame for everything! ... no I do not. And yet somehow it ends up that way. And when it was as clear and unambiguous as Davros always has been it takes really a lot of work to do it.
