went to college. came back. forgot to tell the internet all about it immediately.
I'm sure y'all want to know.

I'm sort of wildly unimpressed with this lesson. I mean, I haven't done the reading, I will happily put my hand up and admit that, I prioritised health stuff this week and didn't read a single line before twenty minutes before the lesson. But, and this is sort of key, that ought to mean I got less out of the essay than the teacher did. And either she isn't conveying much to the class or, well, I sort of thought the point was not quite what she was saying. And then we spent ages working in groups to analyse a short thing (short and very depressing on an upsetting topic). That might have gone better if I knew what the subject/object divide was and hence how to focus on it. I said some stuff she said was good, I just don't see the point on the theory side.

Then I went home. Quickly. Because the bus home leaves at ten past the hour and I can get home for lunch if I get that one.

I still haven't talked to my tutor. My dissertation is... well, it isn't, to be honest, at all, even at planning stage. And apparently according to the computer I have not enrolled, despite my paperwork and my ID badge to the contrary. So that's just lovely. I'd get my tutor on the problem but he hasn't replied to emails and waiting for him outside the classroom didn't work last week cause he was late and leaving a note to remind him I'd waited and needed to talk to him didn't work either and really, I don't know what else I can do, short of camping out at his office... no, wait, the offices have moved, we no longer have access to their offices. So.

I can't give up, it's important, I just... can't think of anything else to do.

The new building isn't nice. It should be nice. But on the way in the security guy told me to put my ID badge around my neck - apparently in my hand is insufficient - and then they were wandering around closing doors, and when I was packing up to leave they leaned in to say the door should be closed at all times because fire door, and hello, I'm a student, I'm the last one out of the room, how exactly can I keep the door closed? Also, the teacher decided the room full of computers she was wishing for last year is in fact unhelpful, so the class was moved to sit around two tiny round tables in the corner instead. I tried, I did, but after a bit everyone had to go back to their other desks to get papers and things and I just... stayed on my own at mine. I realise it would be helpful to be happy and relaxed about being jammed in knee to knee with my fellow students, but that was actually anti fun. So I just stayed at my table typing.
:eyeroll:
I will attempt to figure out how to sit comfortably, with access to the door, without having my back to the door, without being squished by people, with access to typing. ... okay, I won't try very hard, but I probably should.

Was easier with this big laptop, it was tethered and I could have insisted on staying next to the plug. The tiny one actually lasts out the lesson without being plugged in.

Incidentally, people are really bad at noticing there are plugs and cables strung across a space. I should know this by now. My bad. But when I put a chair in the gap and thought that would make it obvious people just try and take the chair for using (in a room full of MANY chairs) or just shove it out of the way to walk past. And it is seriously the only plug in the room, the only one not built in with all the computer systems and cables I mean, so I can't go somewhere less hazardous to navigation. So I'll just have to stay unplugged and make very sure I'm fully charged before class. Or possibly sit with my back to the room. That would be fun.

Two lessons down, ten (I think) to go.
