Sims 3 + world adventures = annoyance
Mar. 9th, 2014 11:22 pmI have spent all day trying to get one specific thing from one specific place. And it kept crashing. And crashing. And crashing.
Just before I gave up for the night I won the thing! And saved the game immediately, of course. And then sent my sim home.
... none of their stuff made it home. Empty inventory. Not just lack of the magic thing, lack of all the things.
So I exited without saving and went to see if this was a known bug and found a forum with a long, long, long, long, long list of known problems, many of them game breakers. which didn't occur to me to look for in advance. who would make a game where sometimes your characters disappear???
So the thing with the crashing is not just my computer. So now I'm wondering if taking my computer to be fixed would be any good at all. Because the game is as updated as it gets, and still, crash crash freeeeeeeze crash crash.
Which is frustrating, because I quite like the poking around in tombs parts. I mean, some of them are epic frustrating and I spend a lot of time trying to remember if I actually explored that particular tomb yet and if so where I left off, but in theory, I like the explorer stuff. And my sim is a martial arts master and wins tournaments and all sorts of good stuff. But I have to save it every time she sleeps because it's quite likely to go boom in the morning.
Possibly I could go back to playing fate, where there are dungeons to explore and it mostly seems to work? But there are not puzzles and pretties to collect the same like sims. And I've only done the one career so far, I have an international super spy adventurer tomb raider martial artist who also makes nectar. She could have been more focused but I decided sims dying was boring and whooshed the length of life up as far as possible. I'd like to see lots of careers, and maybe make a sim who actually cares about making friends, and see how sims grow up, and all those sim things. But it's really really frustrating to even try so far.
boo.
I could go back to playing Sims 2 but I was already frustrated with that because you just do boring things and there aren't adventures. Hence buying world adventures straight away to go with sims 3. Also I made a bunch of households to be the avengers and then moved them into a big tall place together and then made Clint and Phil adopt a kid and then she turned up called Becka and suddenly it was all weird.
I did actually attempt to be social in 3D today but mum was doing spring cleaning instead of sunday breakfast so I just talked on the phone for 55 minutes. Mum doesn't care about Battlestar Galactica yet was willing to listen to me complain about it. And I listen to her shop stories. It probably wouldn't have been much more interesting over egg and beans, but I would probably have remembered to eat more times today. :eyeroll:
Huh, haven't had a drink for 11 hours, will fix that as soon as I post this.
(I am grown up, see. :eyeroll:*:eyeroll: )
