Am reading reviews of Doctor Who episodes. It is interesting that many of the negative reviews concentrate on the story that reached the screen (tacky FX, bad acting etc) and other more positive reviews of the same episodes look at the underlying ideas. Many shows I've been a fan of work better in our heads than on the screen. No budget constraints, and we can ignore the boring bits.
