This morning's dreams

beccaelizabethI read a fanfic ages back that had Jensen from The Losers be Steve and Tony's son. Time travelling genetic engineered by Hydra son, iirc. But since I saw that, I cannot unsee it, and apparently my subconscious just takes it for granted now, which is weird.
So this morning's dream had Jensen be Tony's publicly acknowledged heir before Tony went missing, except then they both got declared dead and someone else who looked exactly like Jensen only taller and wider stepped forward to declare himself the next in line. He could prove he was related to Jensen, but it turned out not on the Stark side. But if the Stark fortune went to Jensen already then being related to him could be enough? Except Jensen would leave it all to his niece, obviously. So there was a huge legal battle going on in their absence. And then of course both of them turned out to still be alive.
The whole thing turned out to be tangled up with the attempt to clone Captain America, as evidenced by all the identical looking guys running around, so this guy and Steve and Johnny Storm and that guy from Push and a whole bunch of random other dudes. Johnny of course is the youngest and his mother used to work on that program and when it got cancelled took some of it home rather than destroy a viable sample.
... my awake brain has mentioned these plot bunnies, but my asleep brain apparently just takes all this stuff for granted.
Only the new twist was the Steve-alike trying to claim the Stark fortune was actually Ty Stone? So Tony really really has a type. But by digging in to this particular can of worms Ty just manages to prove he's not related to his own parents, kicking off a completely different legal battle.
Meanwhile the Petunias would need sponsoring by the Avengers, just to make it clear where anyone threatening them would stand. Though probably any such persons would get a more covert dealing with before the Avengers ever needed to notice.
This is the kind of idea that could only ever be fanfic. Not just because other people own all them characters, but because it builds on them all and their existing connections and roles in their own universes and would be proper tricky to make from scratch without giving everyone prequels to set them up.
It was also sort of lacking in plot, just a lot of running around corridors really, and then everyone ended up on a talk show to argue it all out.
