So I've been watching a lot of older TV and noticing how much slower it is
and I was, like, wondering if some people just find things too whizzy fast now and stop at some point?
And then I realised, I haven't actually watched any new broadcast TV this calendar year.
Agents of SHIELD finished, and I didn't like the most recent Doctor Who, and everything I've watched lately was filmed last century.
... am I one of them people I was wondering about?
Like, I didn't sit down and think, this is why I don't like the new stuff, but somehow I've been watching all this old stuff from liking it better...
Eh, I've watched a lto of cartoons, they're not known for their slow. And movies.
I think it's more like that I got out the habit of watching TV because interesting things are out on DVD eventually and I'll probably notice them then, and half the time I don't know what's on or what's starting so I miss half a season and can't be bothered to catch up.
... also I tend to watch older TV on fast forward.
Probably speed is not the problem.
The sneaking feeling I'm being left behind by technology and even pop culture is not a pleasant one though.

Date: 2015-07-13 06:25 am (UTC)People who want slower, modern TV? Watch reality shows. (Shudder. Twitch.) Those are the shows that are allowed to meander around a point, instead of slamming the viewer with Message and Joke Dammit You Will Laugh Now and Special Effects.

Date: 2015-07-12 10:27 pm (UTC)Only TV made this century I've watched as TV was with my nephew. Tried to watch Nu Who, but gave up before the end of S2; ironically after two of it's best eps, which proved to me that this show wasn't my show. Did watch S5, but that was because Amy & Rory really.
Managed to get a bunch of old shows off You Tube, which I'm looking forward to revisiting as well.
ds9_rewatch in another hour and a half as well.
