Legends of Tomorrow 2-04
Aug. 27th, 2017 09:00 pmI think I liked it.
They did a whole episode of old fashioned racism is bad, but they also kept
mentioning it hasn't exactly gone away, even if it has got better. Also the whole thing with Jax being "I've been Black my whole life". And that 'those are some famous slaveowners you're named after'. Story was trying.
Also a whole bunch of arsehole slaveowners got ate by zombies. Including the guy that died because he wouldn't team up.
Always classic.
And those ever hungry never quitting zombies are an appropriate visual for some sorts of bad.
Nate blowing himself up, getting covered in guts, and being sick
is not an annoying version.
Mick getting turned into a zombie but relying on Ray to help him, good stuff. Progress. Understands he has team now.
Also if anyone can get bit and not notice it's Mick. The man is mostly scar tissue.
... and now I'm thinking about it and *shudders*
Martin making jokes about Mick's stupidity is not funny. Light switches? Has the crew forgotten they used to be terrified of him, or is that the problem?
Or have the writers forgotten he can rebuild the heat gun and do whatever necessary to security systems even before the Chronos gig. *sigh*
Mick giving Ray the gun and asking him to be his partner is Serious.
... if Ray would live up to it...
I did get distracted by the pinup girls on the wall behind Mick. It's like someone was all 'this must not look gay, quick, put girls on it'.
I also liked earlier when Mick got to blow up the escape pod and was like yaay, more? and Martin was all 'don't you think that's enough incineration' and Mick was "No". Heatwave. No amount of incineration is enough incineration.
So that was watchable with feels and team stuff
... the atomwave Ray/Mick people got a lot to work with early on, too.
... anything not coldwave Len/Mick makes me sad, but, I can see it.
Onwards to more episodes...
