beccaelizabethSometimes fantasy or AU fashion bothers me
because so much of fashion actually has to do with the evolving technology of the time
and trade routes, or their interruption, and maybe rationing
You can tell a bunch of story about the available labor for production, maintenance, cleaning, and simple putting on of clothes
just by how you construct your clothes.
Like, obviously their clothes will be different, but why look like that particular bit of history if none of the constraints are the same?
But then I don't know enough about fashion, tech, or trade to cogently construct my argument and it's just frustrating.
