beccaelizabethI am looking at a fanfic
and on the one hand it's a soulmate au fixit fic for a character death that should not have happened, and I've already read the ending to be sure, and it is a happy
but on the other hand they've written one, and only one, character's speech as if he's mostly made of contractions, so what should be an eight word sentence has four ' in it already
which is a simple legibility problem
but also they're wrong
I did transcripts and I'm pretty sure he uses the actual words
So now I'm wondering how much I want a multi chapter buildup to a happy ending.
also, the slash wife problem gets extra layers of problematic once race gets involved. Like, I am not comfortable with shuffling a black woman out of her own story just for a neat plot point and some pretty.
I'm all for ship and let ship but there are so many corners that just seem objectively Wrong I end up having to count to ten a lot.
