beccaelizabethI dreamed a whole Thing where the breakfast buffet was two flights of stairs away from the eating area and you had to go through the kitchen with flames and knives and slicing machines, so I asked a member of staff for assistance, and they were like,'do I know you? I'm getting a feeling I know you. You're... pathetic.'
which, you know, as anxiety dreams go, sucks.
but the bit of the dream that is bugging me was when I was trying to talk to a staff dude at the same time as Loki and Thor. I wouldn't want to be rude at any time, but I definitely do not want to be rude to Loki and Thor. So I don't know how we ended up all being talked to together. The staff dude seemed very much Done with them so maybe he'd said Next or something? They were sitting at the desk and I was standing so I definitely didn't get there first.
Also, Loki was keeping his hands in his lap, probably because they were tied together. Which seems rude and ineffective. He kept picking my pocket simply by bumping into me. Good trick. But I asked politely for my stuff back, because he'd taken a bunch of things like little explain cards and a memory stick with some unfinished writing on it. So he bumped my pocket again and... a fairly random selection of what I'd had was back again. So I poured out the actual money in front of him, because he can have that no problem, and went looking through the rest for a decent gift, but still couldn't find the relevant stick. I found a tangle of necklaces and a gift for Thor, which was a little white horse on a rainbow bead necklace, or possibly a unicorn. But I am unsure what I got Loki.
Also Loki knew my breakfast order, very nearly, though he said one more hash brown than I usually eat. This seems an odd thing for a deity to notice.
He might have not minded about the gifts, seeing as he still had half my pocket contents, the nice tin, and all my cash money especially the shiny bits.
It's bothering me though.
Especially since when I went away (to get the breakfast) on the way back my pockets turned out to have two books in them. Apparently by me. Which, you know, if Trickster God of Stories wants to swap my vague outlines for finished books, seems like a nice thing, but, well, the hotel was now full of time travellers, and they wanted to kill me, because of those books. So possibly I should have thought of a better gift?
So now I'm stuck wondering what, of what I usually carry, would really be the thing.
Though it's also possible the lesson here is I should actually finish my own books, and not await divine intervention, since at least then I'd know what about the content had got anyone targeting me.
