May. 26th, 2018 07:59 pmI have been sorting really old files again.
It makes me feel ugh.
I have so many of the same files.
It starts out funny - look, I still liked it the third time! - and then it's like - I have been going 'ooh shiny' and saving this file since 1998
I haven't changed
ugh.
I mean there's also things I wouldn't save now. Webcomics that long ago ceased to be funny. Cat macros. Many many contact lenses suitable for making monsters. But there's also a whole heck of a lot of the exact same files, and it's not funny right now.
I usually save them in confident expectation of designing a character or Learning A Thing or just bringing together inspiration for a project
only
twenty years later
I have done sod all about any of those projects
they're just picture collections
that are mostly the same pictures.
Loser.
So. I am not a fan of sorting old files.
Which is why they've accrued in archaeological layers so deep thus far anyways.
*sigh*
Plus side, there's many people I've been saving pictures of for that long as well.
Minus side, several of them won't be making any more pictures
and a whole other layer of them haven't been in anything for a loooooooong time.
so basically I now feel old and like I've never finished anything.
messy folders seems preferable to this.

I feel as long as the fire exits are clear then slow is not a problem
one decision at a time things get nicer
even if it is weeks between decisions.

I would feel better if decisions were made, things tidied away, and the leftovers could be given with peace of mind and heart to good homes who will enjoy and care for them.

and double checking with someone else before it leaves.
deciding but in smaller pieces.
it works eventually.
