I played Sims for an unreasonable amount of hours again.
I still dont know as it's any good at all, but you get attached and then it's ages later.
My sim has a hot wife now. It's easy in game. You see someone you like the look of, you talk to them, you make a fool of yourself, but you always have their phone number and email address to contact them again later and if you pick neutral options like chat then they start liking you. Which is daft really, mostly people will think you are boring and not give you their contact details. But in game you can level up your skills with handy books and you know you've got better and you can send poetry to people and they so far don't laugh. And after that it's just flirt and options from the romance menu and we went from first kiss to eloping in one night because why not? It's a game.
... did not have a Wedding, because it costs a thousand dollars and it would take a new writer ages to get that. So that's realism for you.
In reality you can get stuck at 'see hot person'. In game you see everyone who walks past, which eventually is everyone. In reality if you're a loner on your computer you do not in fact see anybody. Is boring.
Today is a science fiction group night. which is nice. but not likely to fix this particular thing...
I need to get some sleep before then though, so, I'll go do that.
... I don't have much science fiction to talk about due to playing sims. oops.
oh well, not likely to be many people there anyway. and if they are the suggested topic is queer characters in F&SF, on which topic I have some Opinions and even a little knowledge. ... yes it would look like talking about Torchwood, Buffy, and Legends of Tomorrow again, and that's not coincidental...
