I woke up from dreaming I was arguing with the kind of guy who thinks STEM education is the only real kind
trying to explain that so so much now is, scientifically speaking, a solved problem, but nobody gets to reap the benefits, because somehow it stays in a puddle of knowledge instead of being actually used.
(the future is here, it's unevenly distributed)

and it's kind of weird that we give every high school student a better STEM education than previous centuries dreamed, yet only some of us are called scientists. was that really the point? We've raised everyone up, do we have to raise teh bar?

and now I'm just, like, really frustratingly arguing with white men exasperated irritated annoyed about the state of the world
and since I was mostly asleep making these speeches this is even less helpful than usual.

The mid night arguments with people who aren't there are the worst kind. In real life they are always much more reasonable and kinder.
