Finished reading #100 in the Pathfinder adventure path, so now the adventurers have Saved The Day, until I open the next issue.
I liked the opportunity to end with some very personalised high stakes roleplay, but I havent been imagining the players strongly enough to have it be a good scene in my head yet. Some good bits, not the big pay off to character arc it could potentially be.
That would require players, and actual roleplay.
I like what the game is doing, basically, but still want more opportunities to talk people out of things.
... the game has an alignment system and some characters are just Evil, I know, and while that does frustrate me, I also keep thinking up angles for pitting the bad guys against each other and implying disloyalty and so forth, which could get Evul cooperating with you because now they dont trust each other.
... I still prefer talking people into being Good though.
Also the whole foundational to Pathfinder dead god bit? Doesnt seem like a good reason to stop worshipping him, if you're talking state religion. An ongoing lack of divine magic doesnt seem like much of a hindrance when you could be concentrating on the civics of the thing. And might even be a political plus, since you wont attract a smiting neither.
Ah well. Many stories can emerge from one setup.
... but today my concentration was so, er, focused, I ended up looking for more names and being all 'hmm, boring meaning' and 'ah, another murderer', and then going playing with anagrams.
discovered a new to me mineral that way.
But am not exactly charging forwards on the saving the world, probably because some games are just meant to be multiplayer.
oh well.
