some reading achieved

I have finished reading all my recent issues of F&SF magazine, and I am caught up for the first time in a year.
... lost of things stalled last march, funnily enough...
I am not sure I liked any story in particular, but I am not sure that's the stories' fault. I dont have anything to say about the stories unless I pick out ones that are particularly upsetting. I still think there should be more trigger warnings in the world.
I mean I still did choose to read the one about the class of middle school kids and the zombie apocalypse, even when it was clear it was about middle schoolers in a zombie apocalypse, so I can't blame anyone else for that one, but it turns out I do not currently find that good to read, just Upsetting. I can see how it was skillfully written and achieved the tone it set out to have. Just. I would rather I had not read that one, as it turns out.
Happy endings are in shorter supply than one might like.
So it goes.
Don't know what I'd be looking for in a story though. So it is unsurprising when I do not find it.
I did see a tweet quoted on tumblr that suggests I am not the only one whose writing ideas are basically just 'everyone hangs out together' at the moment. Actual employed tv people are having the same thing.
... maybe I'd find more of that stuff if I wasn't also just reading science fiction and fantasy.
... but unicorns can also just hang out with their mates sometimes...
I shall keep reading in hopes I find something that suits better.
And I shall not blame the stories for not setting the world to rights.
