Forgot to go to sleep because I was finishing Inevitable Excess on the secret ending.

I was playing Sir Enity, a monk fighter rogue legend, and he never really developed a personality for me, but he did show me some possibilities.

I'm not sure what I was supposed to do with some of the machine parts I picked up so odds are good I missed something useful, but, I did find out what the tricksiest ending does.

I think it would suit Legend!Ianto very well. Crucially it ends with him sent somewhere very far from Golarion, so if I want to send him back to Earth that way I can. With his companions even. All without their mythic powers. And technically only copies of their original selves, who are still on Golarion. Any number of level 20 heroes hitting modern day Earth are going to make a heck of a splash, even in the Whoniverse. Teensy bit over powered, generally. Also over dressed. And yet, utterly powerless vs a Time War, because who wouldn't be?

I didnt have much trouble with anything except one nasty hiding in the corner of a map. Took a while to figure out how to hit that one at all, and when it hit any of the characters they lost all their spells. Which is many by then.

I kept summoning things to help but past a certain point they (a) have to roll for 20s to even hit the enemies and (b) fill up the map so you can't figure out what your actual characters are doing. Not sure they're worth it. As decoys, sure, but aside from that? Need a more cunning plan.

I did make sure to kill both the Inevitable and the Protean demi gods. It hardly seemed fair to only take out the one. Unbalanced.

... also it's kind of fun kicking both of them.

The Inevitable on his own ground was by far the toughest fight of the two of them.

Fun ending, would choose it for the stories it opens up, but a bit brain breaky for the poor characters.

The Inevitables prison is still the shudderiest thing. Somehow the possibility of dissolving into glorious chaos doesnt bother me half so much as the idea of being a perfect pearl of stasis forever. The version where you just live in a simulation forever would seem like the best deal except you have to figure out the big philosophy questions about free will and the singular plural problem, and there's some very u wanted versions of the answers.

... so basically I wouldn't want to play this game forever.
... I say at three in the morning.
*sigh*
