I started reading a fic today
and its one of those that thinks you need to know about Every outfit in Every detail
but the exact way they do descriptions
is so search engine optimised
I keep expecting to see a link.

Also it keeps telling you geographic details without explaining why they're relevant
because clearly it thinks it is conveying relevant detail with like street names and so forth
but that only works if you have at least been there, and neither I nor the source text have even visited the country, so I got nothing.

Sometimes I feel all fic could stand to treat every setting like an alien planet, just to remember to context a bit.

... but I have seen some alien planets that also needed to remember that...

...I'm editing academic papers and I just realised what bugs the fuck outta me in so many of their titles: they're phrased like clickbait. This latest one is "[topic]: what happens when [experiment]?" complete with the question mark and all.
