tinted bubble wrap has never looked so scary...
this was a scary one, actually. brightly lit, sets that looked like sets, monsters that looked like an accident in a packing factory, but still scary. its the whole thing with slowly turning into a bug. And how its still him inside the bug right to the end, saving them all. very creepy, terrible bad thing to happen.
of course the great big bug monsters are a little bit wobbly, but the idea of it works real well. I figure old TV is a bit more like theatre, where the FX really aren't the point, you just go with it and watch the story.
this was good story.
also, the Doctor keeps on picking up and lifting and pulling Sarah Jane. It just struck me as an indicator of trust, that she literally leans on him so much, knows he wont let her fall.
is probably more for practical reasons, but it looked comfortable and practiced, which works well for the characters.
