Poltergeist the Legacy DVD

What is up with DVD sets having the episodes in the wrong order?
PtL looked a bit wonky after I watched most of the first disc. The priest kept on leaving. Like, every single episode. Since he didn't keep on coming back, seemed like something was up. So I looked up the episode order on a fan site and found it is *totally* different. Actually, almost all different, with a few inexplicably right episode pretty much by chance.
The characters hair grows and shrinks at random.
The characterisation goes from post pilot trauma back to calm over to trauma via anger over and over at random.
And I'm starting to piece together an actual arc, one about going dark, but its *utterly* in the wrong order, so its just... Like, Derek is this dark machiavellian mysterious dude, except then he isn't, but he is again.
Actually that might be so even in the right order.
But its driving me nutsy.
Trouble is now I've watched two and a half discs in disc order there's no way to reassemble the proper order, so out of order the rest remain.
Irritation.
Some episodes are better than others.
The Tenement, I just watched, has a thing with a guy being tempted to give up his soul for power, a thing where its about how his father stopped loving him and went cold. And it ties to how Derek is behaving. Very cool.
But there was also 12th Cave. Which now I look I find should have been immediately after Tenement, which would have worked great, because Derek sets himself up for it that way.
And the trouble with that ep is that the B story was *utterly* unrelated to the A plot. As in, I have no clue why they put them both in one ep. As in, I'm feeling like I should go back and check they actually were, they connect so badly.
So, variable quality.
I'm glad I spent money on it.
It definitely doesn't suck.
I mean its no Buffy, but what is?
It has a good variety of characters, a nice setup, some creepy horror stuff going on, and a nice complicated world to play in.
What they actually do with all that is suboptimal, but this I am used to.
Is fun to watch.
In other news the sneezes I thought were allergies have turned into snuffles and sneezes, with some dizziness, and a bit of fuzzy head. Like, I looked at the subtitles button but in the dark I thought it said subtext. Which would be pretty cool, actually. Press button now for added subtext! Fun.
I took an allergy pill and yet sneezes are worse, so allergies it is not.
Tomorrow I have a creative writing for fun group, and Thursday I have college, first lesson of a new unit. Things to do!
So obviously I shall wake up all better.
