I took my GURPS 4th edition in to RPG today, basically so we could pass it around and go 'oooh, shiny!' before we started playing something else. Only now I seem to have volunteered to GM a horror campaign loosely based on my Buffy fanfic and any BtVS or Ats ideas I can cadge without the players twigging.
Last time I GMed we lasted two sessions, which is one more than we lasted the time before that. I make beautiful worlds but usually forget what needs to happen next in them. Well, this time the world is pre generated, and basically matches this one anyway. And I have a whole list of things to happen. But I still anticipate crashing quite quickly.
So far I have one werewolf with a dependent werewolf girlfriend, one old lame psychic who is mostly a fraud except for, and one total mundane with mistaken identity. No one has quite finished their characters yet. We were there between about 3pm and about 9pm. It is GURPS, with slightly new rules. One session to generate a character would be a minor miracle. Also we only have the one book between three.
So now I can see how to hook all three of them into many of my plots, and I just have to decide which one to start with. Well actually, I can see how to hook each of the three individually into different plots. The bit where we make them a gaming party, not so easy. I can stick two out of three together but all at once, not so easy.
I'm making up the story again. eep!
